Each year the Elks holds an Americanism Essay Contest for school children in grades 5-8. This very important Patriotic Contest gives school children the opportunity to express their views on America and what being a patriotic citizen means.

Community Investments Program is designed to help those in our community.  This is done directly and thru various social services that help Elks build stronger communities.

The mission of the Elks National Foundation is to help Elks build stronger communities. We fulfill this pledge by investing in communities where Elks live and work. We provide tomorrow’s leaders, our youth, with a healthy beginning; honor the Elks’ pledge to never forget our veterans; help the state Elks associations accomplish their charitable objectives; and fund projects that improve the quality of life in local Elks communities.

Since the early days of Elkdom, the Veterans Service Commission has patriotically serve
d those Elks who have fought for our great nation.  Many programs including Flag Day, Army of Hope, National Service and direct support of those veterans in our community

Phone cards are available to family members or friends who are on active duty in the military.  For Phone Cards please send soldiers name and military address (including APO or FPO number) to Bill Kearns at bkearns1028@yahoo.com.

If you would like to donate slightly used cell phones and/or used printer cartridges, you can use the drop-box at the lodge which is located in the entry way on the 1st Avenue entrance.  Old phones and cartridges help support the cell phones for soldiers program.  More information can be found at http://www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com/about.php

Drug Awareness
The Elks Drug Awareness Program distributes literature and organizes events to make kids and their parents aware of the dangers posed by alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs. Try the program’s Drug Awareness quiz and test your knowledge!

Hoop Shoot:
The yearly Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Program is open to all boys and girls ages 8 through 13. The contest starts at the lodge level and advances through district, state and regional contests before the national finals in the spring.  Each year the Elks National Foundation provides more than $3.65 million in college scholarships to graduating seniors.
